Mary of Just Take a Bite is a big fan of the Poison/"Vitamin A" and Glyphosate Detox Program for herself and her kids, and she will be releasing her e-book with helpful advice on feeding children through this process soon!

"I’ve been thinking about our healing journey lately, thinking through each child’s symptoms/assessing where they’re at.

My 1-year old has beautiful eczema-free skin. He’s growing well and developing well. As I add foods back into his diet he is tolerating them all (even all the common allergens). To be honest I can’t really think of a single issue we’re still working on. Well, I take that back. He still has a little bit of cradle cap that needs to come off. But I’m pretty sure that’s just a matter of working at it/scrubbing it…not any new stuff coming out. He’s been on the VAD Diet with me for 7 months.

My 4-year old is now dry all night. Her leg pains are a very rare occurrence. She is growing well (in height). She still hasn’t gained much weight, but overall she’s growing really well. All of her pants are now capris. She also can tolerate almost any food. I have not noticed a food reaction of any kind in a long time. And that is saying a LOT from the girl that used to only tolerate a handful of foods. There are no glaring issues we’re working on with her either. She has been on the diet for 5 months.

My 8-year old is now stomach pain free (a true miracle). He honestly eats more than my husband. He is growing and developing well. He has really improved in his reading and overall school work this year. His meltdowns/tantrums are very rare now (they used to be very frequent). He no longer has orange feet. He loves playing soccer, and his skill level has improved dramatically over the last couple months. He too can eat just about anything (even nuts – my kid that used to carry an epi-pen!). And his eczema is GONE. He has struggled with it since he was a baby. Constantly scratching his legs. But not anymore. There are no big issues we’re working on for him either. He has been on the diet for 5 months.

Then we get to my 11-year old. It’s funny, she is the one who always seemed to be the healthiest of my kids because she didn’t have food allergies. But really if you look deeper she has had other more significant issues. She was my sickest child when she was really little – ear infection, bladder infection, hand-foot-mouth, strep throat, etc. She also is my child that has struggled with neurological issues since she was little. We have done speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, functional neurology, chiropractic care, orthodontic work, dietary changes…and yet she still struggles. She is insanely smart and has an amazing memory. She can read something once and have it almost memorized word-for-word. But staying focused/on task is a HUGE struggle. I have been hopeful that the VAD Diet would be the thing we’ve been searching for to help her.

She has been on the diet for 4 months now. After the first few months I wasn’t feeling very confident that it was doing anything. Honestly at this point I figured we just had to accept it as the way things are.

Then we started our declutter project last week. I told her she had to work on the craft room because she is the one that makes the mess (and boy what a mess!). I’ve done this many times. It always ends up with her in tears because she doesn’t even know where to start. I try to give her direction. And she just picks up one thing and gets distracted or frustrated. And I end up doing all the cleaning because it causes her too much stress.

She started on Friday. She has basically been working on cleaning the craft room any spare minute she has since then. And enjoying it! She keeps asking, “Can I go clean now?” Then yesterday she showed me this. She actually did it. She went through every drawer and cupboard and organized it. She cleaned every scrap of paper and every bag and box of random stuff from under the bed. Like she for real cleaned. Not just her usual “Mom, I cleaned.” And then I look and still see stuff everywhere.

And she did it all without any help or direction from me. No reminding her to stay on task. No checking on her to find her just reading instead of cleaning.
Completely blew me away. And it was priceless to see the joy she got out of her accomplishment. She could feel the change.

On top of that she has all of a sudden become a great helper with her little brother. With 3 younger siblings she’s had lots of opportunities to help – but she never took any interest in it. She would much rather read or craft than help watch her sibling. But lately she loves to carry her “baby” brother, read to him, interact with him. And you can see the joy in her smile.

She is starting to learn to plan, get organized and take action. She is excited about chasing her dreams (and she has a lot of them - watch out world, she is going to be unstoppable!). It’s almost like she’s finally waking up from a long daze. Like a fog is lifting.

She is my only child that was on the normal vx schedule – before I knew any better. She is my only child that has struggled with neurological/psychological issues. And we are finally detoxing her from all of that poison. Her brain is starting to work better again. She’s starting to think more clearly. There is still work to be done. But I can see it. I can see that spark of life returning.

Some days a healing journey is hard. You question if it’s worth it. But then you stop and think about the changes. And you realize it is SO worth it.

I can’t wait to share my book with you (I hope soon!) to help you get started on this healing journey too. Amazing things can happen."
